The UK Government is now opening the country wider for foreign travel. Anything wrong with that, considering the current COVID situation in the UK?
1 million infections in 30 days
203 deaths again recorded in the last 24h
1,009 deaths in the last 7 days
3,601 deaths in the last 28 days
As schools returned, mitigations have been relaxed
Cases, hospitalisations, deaths are higher than this time last year
122,000 children were absent from state schools with confirmed or suspected COVID infections last week – the highest number for England during the pandemic
Nobody would consider it ‘okay’ for an Airbus A330 (that typically flies between 210-250 passengers) to crash in the UK every day. Immediate actions would be taken at the highest level of government to stop this from happening.
So, why do the prime minister and his government currently consider it ‘okay’ or ‘acceptable’ for around 200 people to die of COVID-19 every day and do nothing about it?
These are 200 people’s Dad, Mum, brother, sister, uncle, aunt, grandparents we are losing every day.
No, it is not ‘normal’.
No, it is not ‘acceptable’.
No, it is not ‘okay’.
